We are located in Historic Sheepscot Village in Midcoast Maine, in the town of Alna. An hour North of Portland, an hour South of Camden...... we are just 4 miles from the coastal Maine villages of Wiscasset and Damariscotta on Route 1.
Wabi Sabi Cottage overlooks the tidal Sheepscot River. With two charming, country, antique appointed rooms, you can wake to a view of the river as the smell of coffee, and bacon waft under your door. After a shower overlooking the river, cozy up to the fireplace in the winter or sit on the screen porch and drink in the view. A full country cottage breakfast promises to be food for your soul, your eyes and your appetite.
Joan Thompson, Innkeeper and lifelong Maine resident, rises early every morning, dons her apron and makes homemade scones and cinnamon rolls for guests as well as for the daily delivery to the Maine Coast Bookshop in Damariscotta. She opens the door at 7am and is ready to greet any hungry soul that visits. Check out the full breakfast menu.
The public is welcome to visit Wabi Sabi Cottage from 7-10:30am Wednesday through Sunday for pastries and coffee to go, however breakfast from the menu is served by reservation only....(CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAYS). You can come enjoy a cup of tea and a scone with a friend, to have a full breakfast with the neighbors or to pick up pastries and coffee to go. Seating on the screen porch overlooking the river is available weather permitting.
